Theo VnEconomy, vào 20h ngày 2/7 (giờ Việt Nam), Tổng Bí thư Tô Lâm đã có cuộc điện đàm với Tổng thống Hoa Kỳ Donald Trump về quan hệ Việt Nam - Hoa Kỳ và đàm phán về thuế đối ứng giữa hai nước.
According to VnEconomy, at 8 p.m. on July 2 (Vietnam time), General Secretary To Lam called President Trump about the US-Vietnam relationship and the negotiations about reciprocal tariffs between both sides.
Tổng thống Donald Trump đánh giá cao việc Việt Nam cam kết dành quyền tiếp cận thị trường ưu đãi cho hàng hóa của Hoa Kỳ, trong đó xe ô tô phân khối lớn.
President Donald Trump appreciated Vietnam's commitment to providing preferential market access for US goods, including large-engine cars.
CNBC tóm tắt lại trade deal như sau/ CNBC summarized the trade deal as follows:

Hàng hóa Việt Nam xuất khẩu qua Mỹ sẽ chịu mức thuế 20% và sẽ chịu 40% nếu hàng hóa là transshipping.
Goods from Vietnam exported to the US will be subject to a 20% tariff, which will increase to 40% if they are transshipped.
Hàng hóa Mỹ xuất khẩu qua Việt Nam sẽ không bị áp thuế.
US goods exported to Vietnam won't be imposed with any tariffs.

Tuy nhiên, cần lưu ý đây là quan điểm mà Tổng thống Trump và Tổng Bí thư Tô Lâm chốt với nhau, còn điều khoản chi tiết vẫn phải tiếp tục được thảo luận và làm rõ, ví dụ hàng hóa bị áp 40% transshipping dựa cơ sở nào, 20% thuế đã bao gồm mức baseline 10% chưa,...Chúng ta còn phải chờ thêm.
However, it should be noted that this is the viewpoint that President Trump and General Secretary To Lam have agreed on, and the detailed terms still need to be discussed and clarified, for example, on what basis are goods subject to the 40% transshipping tax, does the 20% tax include the 10% baseline rate, etc. We still have to wait.
